“ The il Sugo team hosted a dinner for our dental office with 34 guests! They set up 3 long tables and serviced us in an efficient and friendly manner. There were other customers in the other half of the space, but we felt as if we had it to ourselves. They prepared a smaller menu for us to choose from with 2 salad choices, 3 entree choices, and a lovely chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The side salads were generous and delicious. The pasta entrees were great, with from scratch sauces and big portions. Several of us agreed the Tartufo chicken/mushroom pasta was the best, but the Bolognese & tortellini were also well-liked. We also appreciated that they prepared a veggie, GF pasta dish for our employee with dietary restrictions. The servers kept the drinks flowing and it was a fun evening! They charged 25/person plus gratuity and all felt it was very reasonable for what we got. (Why go to another local Italian place with microwaved, food service sauces and too-high prices?) Thank you il Sugo--we will be back! ”

“ You know when you find that one place that hits you in a really good kinda way? Well, for me, that is il Sugo (which means "the sauce"). From the food to the phenomenal service, this should be your go-to place for quality Italian cuisine. They have a very unique way of adding a personal touch to great Italian classics. Everything tasted fresh. The mozzarella with the bruschetta is mmmm, fresh. The sauce in the chicken parm is mmmm fresh, with the perfect amount of basil. The braised beef with the ravioli is mmmm, fresh. Look here, folks, this ain't no quick served kind of place. Like I said, everything is fresh. Perfection takes time, and you will NOT be disappointed. This is a great little, cozy Italian restaurant. Don't get me started about the desserts. Damn!!! The tiramisu and chocolate cake were divine. When the food arrived, it looked so good, I dove in!!! I forgot to take a pic to include with this review. However, I did get pics of the desserts and WOW!!! Just look at them. If the desserts look that delicious, just imagine that the food looks and tastes just as delicious. Our waitress was way more than a server, so I won't belittle Krysta by calling her such. She was an absolute ROCKSTAR, and she welcomes you to il Sugo like an old friend. She is warm, attentive, and personable. Krysta, thank you for a wonderful experience. I hope to visit again real soon. ”

“ Hidden gem that should definitely get more business. Went here on Christmas Eve with my family and we were treated extremely well. Our server was super attentive and very throughout in answering all our questions about the dishes. As for the food itself I got a spicy penne dish that had a simple yet delightful flavor. I had actually eaten a meal before coming in but I fell in love with this dish so much that my stomach found the room and I finished my whole bowl. If you’re looking for something new around Meridian give this place a shot! Edit: Recently went back to celebrate my birthday and I received an equally great experience to my last visit. The Chicken Carbonara that I ordered is single handily the best pasta dish I've ever had. It's rich but not overbearing, perfectly seasoned, and the prosciutto on top made it even better. Antonio was once again our server and he knocked it out of the park, if you are planning on visiting ask specifically for him. For my birthday before we left he brought out a packaged slice of cake with a spoon ready to go. He's made both visits to this place with my family all the more enjoyable. ”
